Midway across the flood plain of the Little Brazos (which is a dead flat 20 mile stretch) lies the little town of Mumford. Counting the chicken coop it has four buildings, one of which is this impressive brick structure. Riders were quite entranced with this place, as the interior didn't appear to have been changed since the place was first opened.
Mumford had two high speed, heavily-trafficked rail lines passing through it. One is just behind the general store and the other in front of it (just behind me as I stand to take this picture). Riders who were unlucky got stuck in Mumford waiting for a very, very long train to pass by so they could get back out to the highway.
