The morning after the big thunderstorm they made the decision to cancel that day's ride, which would have been about 90 miles from Giddings to Sealy. It was still raining a little, more storms and flash floods were predicted, many people had failed to protect their stuff properly and had no dry clothes, and these Texans were not equipped to ride in 60° wet weather, although it would have been easy for us New Englanders.
So, they put us on buses again. It took all day to move everyone to Sealy. Fortunately, Michael and I were on one of the first buses to go, so we didn't have to hang out any longer in the Giddings High School gymnasium.
